The International STEAM Azerbaijan Festival (SAF) has officially opened registration for its 2025 edition. Scheduled to take place from November 17 to 19 at the Baku Expo Center, the festival is set to bring together hundreds of young talents from around the world. SAF continues to serve as a premier platform where science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics intersect with innovation, sustainability, and youth creativity.
Launched in 2021, SAF was initiated by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan in collaboration with the STEAM Azerbaijan project, as part of the nation’s broader digital transformation and educational innovation agenda. Since its inception, SAF has become one of the largest and most inclusive youth-focused STEAM events in the Caucasus and Central Asia region.
Over the years, SAF has grown into an international festival that goes far beyond showcasing technical skills - it fosters cross-cultural collaboration, critical thinking, and sustainable innovation among future global leaders.
Each edition of SAF adopts a unique thematic focus:
2025: Aligning with global priorities such as climate action, creative problem-solving, and green technology, particularly following COP29 and the "Year of Solidarity for a Green World" declared in Azerbaijan in 2024. SAF 2025 continues to emphasize “Tech for Impact”, encouraging young inventors and coders to think sustainably
This year, SAF will feature a total of 18 exciting categories, including 5 new competitions debuting in 2025:
