Cadet Jordan Pham was awarded the National Navy ROTC Scholarship, which is valued at up to $200,000. According to NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth, the scholarship will fully cover his tuition at the University of Texas at Austin as he prepares to become a commissioned Navy officer.

Pham is currently ranked sixth in his graduating class. He is set to earn not only his high school diploma but also an associate degree through dual enrollment. He has also been recognized as an Academic All-State student-athlete and serves as a leader in his school’s JROTC program. It’s a high school program in the United States that teaches students leadership, discipline, teamwork, and basic military structure.

His mentor, retired Command Sergeant Major Leon Johnson, praised his growth and achievements, saying the program focuses on developing “whole students” who excel in academics, leadership, and discipline. Johnson highlighted Pham’s ability to balance top academic performance with leadership roles in the cadet battalion.

Pham said the scholarship will help him continue his education at university while also preparing him for his long-term goal of serving as a commissioned officer in the United States Navy.
