UNESCO is offering an Internship in Digital Business Solutions, available at its Paris Headquarters or remotely, running for 1 to 6 months. This opportunity is open to external candidates who are graduate students or recent postgraduates with a strong interest in ICT operations, cybersecurity, cloud computing, AI, and application development. Interns will support UNESCO’s digital strategy projects under the supervision of the Digital Bureau Solutions (DBS) team, which focuses on digital infrastructure, cyber risk management, and streamlined knowledge/project management.

Eligibility

  • Age: Must be at least 20 years old
  • Academic Status:
    • Currently enrolled in a graduate program (Master’s, PhD, or equivalent/second university degree or higher), OR
    • Graduated within the past 12 months with a Master’s, PhD, or equivalent
    • Note: Applicants who hold only a bachelor’s degree and are not in a graduate program do not qualify
    • Language Skills: Excellent written and spoken English or French; working knowledge of the other language is an asset
  • Technical Skills: Proficient computer and office software skills; adaptability to multicultural team environments; strong interpersonal and communication capabilities

Intern Role

Interns may contribute to one or more of these domains:

  1. Operations & Helpdesk / Network / Server / Cloud
    • Network monitoring, diagnosing connectivity issues, configuring network devices
    • Working with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
    • Troubleshooting, documentation, and basic user support
  2. Cybersecurity, Compliance & AI
    • Supporting AI/Generative AI deployment and testing
    • Conducting cybersecurity awareness workshops and phishing simulations
    • Reviewing security policies and analyzing vulnerability reports
  3. Development, Architecture & Engineering
    • Application development using technologies like Salesforce, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node.js, or Django
    • UI/UX improvements, reporting, data cleaning, visualization (e.g., Power BI)
    • Testing, debugging, quality assurance, and documentation

Program Benefits

Note: the internship does not offer financial compensation 

Required Documents

  • Motivation letter (cover letter) and résumé (CV), have them ready before starting; you’ll have only one hour to complete the application
