EIGENT Grants for International Postdoctoral Researchers 2025 in Spain

The Generalitat Valenciana (Spain) offers the EIGENT Grants to attract exceptional postdoctoral researchers with international experience to join research groups at universities and research centers within the Valencian Community. The application period for the 2025 call runs from September 1 to September 26, 2025, aiming to support research careers with contracts lasting up to four years (extendable by two more) and generous research funding.

Eligibility

• Hold a PhD awarded no more than six years before the application deadline.
• Conducted at least two years of research stays at internationally renowned institutions outside the Valencian Community.
• Not currently affiliated with any research center or university in the Valencian Community at the time of application.
• If their PhD was obtained from a Valencian institution, they must have been contractually separated from that institution for at least two years.
• Secure an endorsement from the lead researcher of the host group. Only one endorsed applicant per host group is allowed.

Program Dates/Location

• Application Deadline: September 26, 2025
• Contract Duration: Up to 4 years (48 months), with the possibility of a 2-year extension if requested at least six months before the contract ends (subject to funding availability)
• Location: Research centers or universities within the Valencian Community, Spain.

Program Benefits

• A full employment contract for up to four years (with possible two-year extension).
• Annual salary of up to €55,000 (70% funded by Generalitat; the host covers the rest).
• Up to €30,000 per year available for project execution/research costs.

Study Fields

• Targeted exclusively at postdoctoral research across all thematic areas defined by the State Research Agency.

Required Documents

• PhD diploma or certificate (obtained within the last six years).
• Curriculum Vitae (CV) that demonstrates scientific excellence.
• Documentation of at least two years of international research stays, completed outside the Valencian Community.
• Scientific–technical report and a detailed work plan outlining your research objectives.
• Letter of endorsement from the lead researcher of your intended host research group.
• Additional administrative and legal documents, such as declarations of compliance and any required legal representation documents.

Application Process

• Applications are submitted online through the Generalitat Valenciana’s electronic system during the official window (September 1 to September 26, 2025)
• Applicants must complete the electronic application form and submit it within the deadline to be considered valid
• All materials must be properly signed and registered before the deadline.
