The Global Development Conference 2025 in France is now welcoming international applications - science journalists from all over the world. This renowned gathering will be held in Clermont-Ferrand, France, from October 28 to October 30, 2025. Selected journalists will receive sponsorship for travel and stay, gain exclusive access to sessions on Inclusive Digital Transformation, and connect with researchers, policymakers, and development practitioners from around the world. They'll also attend capacity-building workshops and help shape collaborative training programs in research communication

The central focus of GDC 2025 is: “Inclusive Digital Transformation: Social Impacts and Technological Innovations.” The conference aims to explore how digital transformation is reshaping sustainable development outcomes, with a strong emphasis on understanding the social impacts of technology and digital change on humanity.

Eligibility

Applicants can be Science Journalists from all countries, but the priority will be given to:

  • Women Journalists

  • Journalists from low-and middle-income countries (LMICs)

  • Individuals representing underserved or underrepresented communities

  • You have to commit to producing and publishing at least two original pieces of content based on your learnings at the conference, by November 15, 2025, and you have to put the name and email ID of the editor who will publish your work.
