The InfraVision International Competition 2025, organized by the InfraVision ThinkTank, is an online contest open to university students and recent graduates worldwide. Under the theme “The City as a Network: Reimagining Urban Infrastructure”, applicants are expected to submit ideas for enhancing a large infrastructure project spanning the next 30 years in a selection of cities, accompanied by concrete proposals for design, planning, stakeholder engagement, technology, and decarbonization, aiming to transform urban networks (including transport, energy, telecommunications, waste, and water management, among others). 

Eligibility

  • Students from all over the world can apply.
  • Teams can consist of 1 to 5 members.
  • All team members must have an active student status during the academic year 2024-2025
  • There are no faculty or disciplinary requirements. The contest is open to creative minds from various backgrounds: architecture, urban planning, engineering, complex systems, economics, public policy, computer science, etc.
  • The project submitted must include: Design and planning, Stakeholder engagement, Technology and innovation, Sustainability, and Urban network integration.

  • Results will be announced during Paris Infraweek: November 2025 (TBA)

Program Benefits 

There will be three winners of the competition.

  • The first winner will get a prize of 10,000 euros.
  • The 2nd-placed team will get 7,000.
  • The 3rd-placed team will get 3,000 euros.

InfraVision Competition Requirements

  • Submissions must include a memo of 10 pages in Word max. or of 30 slides describing the project’s vision and roadmap. Visual representations may be included, although they are optional: sketches, digital or physical models, diagrams, etc.
  • Assessment criteria will emphasize design quality, ensuring functionality, and integration within the urban environment; sustainability, considering long-term environmental and social impact; innovation, reflecting creative solutions and the use of new technologies; and overall impact, evaluating contributions to urban connectivity and quality of life.
