Kazan, Russia — The 4th Kazan Global Youth Summit took place on August 28–29, 2025, at the Kamal Theater in Kazan, bringing together over 200 delegations from 45 countries to discuss the role of values, education, and artificial intelligence (AI) in shaping the future of learning.

Co-hosted by the Republic of Tatarstan and the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF), the summit carried the theme “Education of Personality in the Era of Global Changes: Values-Based Career Development.” Among the opening speakers were Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleyeva, ICYF President Taha Ayhan, and senior advisers to Tatarstan President Rustem Minnikhanov, reflecting the event’s growing international profile.

A key panel debated whether AI and new media could replace traditional educational institutions, with participants agreeing that technology should support rather than replace human-centered learning. ICYF President Ayhan stressed the importance of shared Islamic and universal values in education and noted that recommendations from the summit could inform future discussions at the United Nations.

The program also featured the Global Young Leaders Awards, which honored achievements in social entrepreneurship, research, cultural preservation, and media influence. Sharmeen Fayyaz of Pakistan, who was named “Young Person of the Year,” highlighted the relevance of discussions on guiding children in a digital environment and addressing the ethical challenges of AI.

In his address, President Minnikhanov underlined the need for mentorship networks and cross-border collaboration, emphasizing that education must prepare youth with both technical knowledge and social responsibility. The summit concluded with a declaration calling for responsible integration of AI into education, ensuring data privacy, teacher training, and fostering creativity, critical thinking, and lifelong learning.
