LOCAL International 2025 Internship in Türkiye (Fully Funded)

The LOCALINTERNational 2025 Internship offers a unique, fully funded opportunity for international university students and recent graduates to gain practical insight into the workings of local government in Türkiye. Organized annually by the Union of Municipalities of Türkiye, this on-site program runs for 8 days, from August 31st to September 7th, 2025. 

Participants of the internship will receive comprehensive training on the principles of local governance, including youth participation, fund and grant management, sustainable development goals, and urban planning. The internship combines theoretical sessions with hands-on field visits to municipal offices and projects, allowing participants to observe best practices firsthand. Beyond professional training, the program encourages cultural exchange and networking through social activities and city tours. 

The internship covers all essential expenses, including international airfare, accommodation, meals, local transport, and sightseeing activities. This program is ideal for students interested in public administration, political science, urban development, international relations, and sustainable governance seeking an immersive experience abroad.

Eligibility

• Open to applicants from all nationalities without restrictions.
• Open to current university students and recent graduates.
• Good command of English required for participation; IELTS or other formal English tests are not required.
• No age limits or field-of-study restrictions, welcoming a wide variety of academic backgrounds.
