The RELX Environmental Challenge 2025 is an international competition that seeks proposals with creative and practical solutions to enhance access to safe water and/or sanitation in regions where such resources are at risk. Who can apply: Both for-profit and non-profit individuals and organizations from any country

  • The Challenge is open only to applicants 21 years of age or over at their time of entry. Applicants may participate as (i) individuals, (ii) teams of individuals, or (iii) individually or in teams on behalf of an organisation
  • Applicants must submit a detailed project proposal addressing access to safe water and/or sanitation
  • Projects must be sustainable, scalable, and practically applicable in real-world settings

  • First-place winner receives a cash prize of USD 50,000
  • Second-place winner receives a cash prize of USD 25,000
  • Both winners receive one year of free access to ScienceDirect, RELX’s Scientific, Technical & Medical database, which includes approximately 250,000 research papers in Environmental Sciences since 2000
