Sabi, a startup company based in California, is creating a wool hat that would allow people to type just by thinking. Sabi informed about this decision in the wired article by Emily Mullin.

The beanie is an EEG rig, which uses metal disks pushed against the scalp to detect brainwaves. Readings from outside the head have never been accurate enough to capture continuous inner speech because the signal is muffled by the skin and skull.

A dozen to several hundred sensors are found in the majority of EEG caps. The company gathered almost 100,000 hours of recordings from a pool of 100 volunteers in order to train it. At launch, 30 words per minute is the goal.
