The Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA) 2026 is a fully funded scholarship offered to outstanding international students who have not previously studied in Singapore on a free scholarship. This program allows students to pursue a PhD in Science and Technology at leading institutions such as A*STAR Research Institutes, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), National University of Singapore (NUS), and the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). Conducted entirely in English, the SINGA scholarship covers tuition fees, accommodation, and research support for a full‑time four‑year doctoral program, giving scholars the chance to work with world‑class researchers and develop advanced research skills in Singapore’s dynamic academic environment.

Eligibility

  • Open to all international graduates who show strong research interest and outstanding academic achievements.
  • Must hold a bachelor’s degree at the time of application.
  • Required to have an excellent academic record and supportive recommendations from academic referees.
  • Should demonstrate good written and spoken English skills.
  • No fixed English test requirement, but individual universities may ask for proof of proficiency.
  • Eligible only for PhD programs in Science and Engineering (applications in humanities, arts, or unrelated fields are not accepted).
  • A*STAR may set extra selection criteria according to its policies, which can change without prior notice.

Program Benefits

  • The scholarship offers a full waiver of tuition fees.
  • Recipients will receive a one‑time settling‑in allowance of SGD 1,000.
  • A single airfare allowance of up to SGD 1,500 is also included.
  • Scholars will get a monthly stipend of SGD 2,700, which increases to SGD 3,200 after passing the qualification exam.
  • This award allows you to pursue your PhD in Singapore without any personal tuition costs.
  • You can earn your doctoral degree abroad completely free of charge.
  • SINGA 2026 also gives scholars access to international laboratories and advanced research facilities.

Required Documents

  • A valid passport is required.
  • A recent passport‑size photograph (JPEG or PNG format).
  • All academic transcripts must be in English or officially translated.
  • Submit bachelor’s and master’s transcripts.
  • Provide a bachelor’s degree certificate or, if not yet awarded, an official letter from the university confirming completion.
  • Two recommendation reports submitted online by your referees.
  • (Optional) GRE, TOEFL, IELTS, SAT, or GATE scores – some universities may later request these to meet their admission criteria.

Application Process

  • Click “Apply” down below to to start your SINGA application (you need to register for a new account from this link, and once you are logged in, you can start your SINGA application by doing the following points )
  • Browse available PhD research projects and choose one that matches your interests.
  • Prepare all required documents beforehand, as they must be uploaded during the application.
  • Submit all documents online through the SINGA portal; do not send hard copies.
  • Referees must upload their recommendation letters directly to the portal.
  • Your application is considered complete only after both reference letters are submitted.
  • Apply at least two weeks before the deadline so referees have enough time (7 days) to submit their letters.
  • Ensure your application is sent before the official SINGA deadline.
