According to hurriyetdailynews.com, the head of Türkiye's Council of Higher Education (YÖK) has stated that an innovative strategy to higher education reform that will terminate programs with poor employment prospects.

Enrollment and graduation rates will no longer be the only metrics used to evaluate colleges. 

YÖK President Erol Özvar said that programs with continuously poor labor market alignment may be phased out completely and those with low employability rates and little industry demand will have their quotas lowered.

YÖK emphasized that access to higher education will be maintained despite the planned reduction of underperforming programs, with reforms aimed at bringing academic offerings into line with Turkey's changing economic and technical goals.
