Uzbekistan Launches "Kelajak" Centers with Digital Portfolios for Students

To reshape the country's extracurricular landscape, Uzbekistan launches "Kelajak" (Future) centers, providing students with new avenues for personal and professional development.

The new centers will be launched at the national, regional, and district levels, consolidating existing youth development organizations such as the 219 "Barkamol Avlod" schools, the "Yoshlar" sports society, the Student Youth Center, and the Uzbekistan Children’s Organization.

The "Kelajak" centers will work closely with schools to offer a wide range of clubs and activities, including engineering, science, culture, art, reading, sports, and ecology. To ensure students are properly guided, a new consultant position will be introduced in every school. These consultants will help students choose clubs based on their interests—from languages and engineering to creative arts and sports. Furthermore, deputy principals for educational work, in collaboration with class teachers and school psychologists, will provide support to children facing challenges in their studies or family life. Youth leaders in local communities will also be responsible for organizing students’ extracurricular activities.

A key innovation accompanying the launch of the "Kelajak" centers is the creation of a digital portfolio for every student. This portfolio will systematically record and track a student's achievements in clubs, sports, volunteering, and Olympiads. These results will be officially reflected in their electronic certificate, providing a comprehensive and verifiable record of their extracurricular accomplishments.
