The Yale Peace Fellowship 2026 is a prestigious and fully funded leadership program hosted by the Yale Jackson School of Global Affairs through its International Leadership Center. Designed for rising leaders in peacebuilding, diplomacy, reconciliation, and interfaith work, the fellowship combines virtual learning with two immersive, in-person residencies: one in the UAE (February 1–5, 2026) and another at Yale University in the U.S. (April 13–17, 2026). The program begins with biweekly online sessions from January through May 2026, offering deep engagement in leadership training and global collaboration. Only 16 Fellows are selected globally each year, making this a highly competitive and impactful opportunity for professionals committed to creating peace and understanding across cultures. All travel, lodging, and program costs are fully covered.

Eligibility

Program Date/Location

Program Phases 

  1. Virtual Learning Phase
    • Format: Biweekly online seminars and workshops
    • Focus: Leadership development, negotiation skills, conflict analysis, peer learning
    • Location: Remote, accessible globally
  2. International Study Trip in the UAE
    • Duration: 5 days
    • Activities: Attend the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity ceremony, meet peacebuilders and interfaith leaders, field visits and cultural exchange
    • Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
  3. In-Person Seminar at Yale University
    • Duration: 5 days
    • Activities: Intensive workshops, reflection sessions, networking with Yale faculty and global experts
    • Location: New Haven, Connecticut, USA

Objective of the Yale Peace Fellowship

  • Give them dedicated time to think deeply about today’s conflicts.
  • Teach them negotiation and leadership skills.

  • Help build a growing network of fresh-thinking peace leaders from different fields and places.
  • Strengthen the abilities of people working to stop violence and fix broken communities.

Application Process

  • Create an account to be able to access the online application form
  • Complete the application by submitting your résumé or CV (maximum 3 pages).
  • Write a personal statement (up to 600 words) explaining your leadership experience and motivation for joining the fellowship.
  • Record and upload a short video statement introducing yourself and your peacebuilding work.
  • Provide one letter of recommendation from a professional or academic referee who can speak to your leadership and impact.
  • Submit your application before the deadline: September 2, 2025, by 14:00 local time.
  • Selected candidates will be notified and invited to participate in virtual interviews or additional screening if needed.
