YOJO (Young Journalists) – the non-profit, independent newsroom of iMEdD – is seeking the next generation of reporters who will help shape the future of journalism. It offers a one- or two-year paid employment opportunity for recent graduates from around the world at its state-of-the-art newsroom in Athens, Greece. Participants will contribute to impactful, transparent, and innovative journalism throughout their placement. The program will select 20 applicants from anywhere in the world and will relocate to Athens, Greece, in January 2026. 

Eligibility 

  • Nationality: Open to all nationals.
  • Education: You need to be a recent graduate (since October 2023) or a final-year student at the undergraduate or postgraduate level.
  • Language: You must be fluent in English.
  • Experience: No previous newsroom experience is necessary, just a strong sense of curiosity and commitment to ethical, impactful journalism.
  • Relocation: You must be willing to relocate to Athens, Greece

Duties of a YOJO Journalist

  • Hands-on Reporting: Cover events in Greece and globally, with real-time reporting.
  • Impactful Stories: Produce important stories such as political, investigative, international, or conflict journalism.
  • Video-First Content: Create engaging digital news, including on-camera reporting.
  • Innovative Storytelling: Experiment with AR, VR, XR, data journalism, and AI tools.
  • Skill Development: Master cutting-edge broadcast and media technology.
  • Strong Portfolio: Build a Strong Portfolio.
